Why You Need an Email Subscriber List
It is possible to make money on the internet with a great offer, a compelling sales page, and a way to get traffic (potential customers) to your sales page. Some of the people who read your sales page will purchase your product if you make the offer on your sales page compelling enough. But what about all the people who come to your sales page but don’t buy your product? They will likely never see your offer again and can never become customers in the future.
Ask yourself how many times you have looked at a product that you were interested in, and then passed it up. Perhaps you got distracted or decided that it was too expensive, or for any other of hundreds of reasons, you didn’t go from being a prospect to a customer. For whatever reason, you weren’t ready to buy right then.
What would have happened if a little later, the product was presented to you again, with for example, more of it’s benefits pointed out, or with testimonials of other folks who enjoyed it? You may have felt your interest returning and you may have bought it. Or what if whomever was selling the product, provided you with some good free information that you found useful and intriguing? Again, you may have been more receptive to buying.
It is an old and true sales adage that “people buy from people that they feel like they know and can trust”. That is exactly where Email marketing comes in. By developing a relationship with your prospect over time, they get to feel that they know you and begin to trust you.
Because you have kept in touch with them, you can again present them with your offer. This time they may be in a different frame of mind because they have gotten to know you a little bit through your emails. Also, over time they may have decided that they do want the product and because your company’s name is “in the front of their mind”, you will get the sale.
When the top marketers on the internet say “the money is in the list” that is what they mean. With a list of potential customers, you are in a much better position to make a sale then if you are just relying on the people who have arrived at your web site’s offer page. Building a subscriber list does take time and some effort but it is certainly worth it in the long run if you want a sustainable business.
