Teleseminar Business Model- Build your list and generate income

I was recently involved in the technical aspects of creating a Teleseminar. This is a great business model that can be used by anyone who is willing to put in the time and will both build a subscriber list and generate income.

The basic idea is to contact a number of experts in a particular niche, interview them and record the interviews. You then present the interviews as audio content on your web site. There are a number of interesting variations to this model in how the content is presented and how the sales are made.

What we did was offer the audios as free content for 24 hours. Each audio was presented for one day and was provided in a streaming format. We had 21 presenters and so, the “launch” went on for 21 days. We packaged the interviews into a sales package for folks that wanted to own them and download the MP3s.

Since we were providing all the interviews for free (for a limited time), the experts were willing to mail an invitation to their subscribers to listen in to the 21 days of content. By choosing experts that already had a large number of subscribers, we were able to get a lot of folks to opt-in to our subscriber list in order to listen in. This was an easy way to build our own list.

Each day we sent the subscribers an invitation to listen to that day’s interview and of course told them the benefits of doing so. We also presented them each day with the offer to purchase the complete package of interviews, so that they wouldn’t have to worry about missing any and listen again and again.

We used Aweber as our email provider. Aweber is a great service that now has a brilliant web form module that lets you easily customize opt-in forms and install them on your web site. We also found their customer service to be very helpful.

To protect the audio content and the download links, we used a product called DL Guard.
DL Guard was perfect for our needs and also provides an easy way to create a member site. It is very affordable and since you buy it, not rent it, you don’t have to pay a monthly fee. Sam, the creator of DL Guard is answers questions on the member forum every day and provides the best customer service…ever! Plus, DL Guard is available with a 30 day free trial right now, so you can see if it works for you for free!
